Getting to & from the airport — transport options — HTS
HTS is in Wayne County, about 3 miles south of Huntington, serving the tri-state region of West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. Here are your ground-transportation options, with the trade-offs.
Flat-rate shuttle / private transfer (Tri-State Airport Shuttle)
Door-to-door with a fixed price shown before you book, flight tracking and no surge. Best when you want certainty, luggage help, or are travelling as a family or group. This is what we do.
Taxi
Available at the terminal, metered. Convenient on arrival but the fare varies with traffic and you don’t know the total in advance.
Uber / Lyft (rideshare)
Pickup outside the terminal. Pricing is dynamic and rises at peak times and in bad weather, and driver availability in the tri-state area can be limited late at night.
TTA bus
The Tri-State Transit Authority serves nearby areas — the lowest-cost option, but with stops, a fixed timetable and limited luggage space.
Car rental
On-airport counters near baggage claim. Makes sense if you need a car for your whole stay, but adds parking and fuel costs.
